Your insulation contractor in Sun Valley NV
I started Prime Sun Valley Spray Foam Insulation in Sun Valley in 2023, after running a small business of my own and learning insulation on job sites beside experienced installers. We're licensed and fully insured, we offer 16 insulation services, and we work across seven cities and the cities around them. I'd rather tell you a job isn't worth doing than sell you one you don't need. You can read more about who we are and how we work.
Our insulation services in Sun Valley
We insulate attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, seal drafty gaps and pull out old material. Price and schedule turn on the size of the space, how hard it is to reach and what's in it now, and the written estimate gives you your number.
Spray foam insulates and seals air at once in walls, rooflines and tight spots. You choose open-cell or closed-cell, and we'll tell you which fits the space.
For a hot upstairs, we measure the inches already up there and tell you whether a top-up will do or the old layer should come out first.
Blown-in insulation is loose fill sent through a hose, so it reaches every corner of an open attic. We keep it deep at the edges and clear of the eave vents.
We look at the whole house, attic to crawl space, and put the work in order, so you can do what matters now and leave the rest for later.
Old insulation that got soaked or filled with droppings comes out before anything new goes in, because covering it only hides the problem. We bag it and clean up.
Cold floors over a crawl space usually mean thin insulation underneath. We insulate the floor or the crawl space walls, depending on how your house is built.
Exterior walls in older houses can be close to empty. We can fill them through small holes from outside or inside, or insulate open walls during a remodel.
Air sealing closes the gaps around pipes, wires, outlets and ducts throughout the house, where drafts usually start. On most jobs, it's the step we do first.
We insulate basement walls and the band where the house meets the foundation. Against concrete, foam usually makes sense because it stands up to moisture.
Closed-cell foam is dense foam that also blocks moisture, which suits crawl spaces, basements and rooflines. It costs more than open-cell, so we use it where moisture is the concern.
Open-cell foam is softer and lighter, fills odd-shaped walls and rooflines, and quiets noise. It costs less than closed-cell and suits spaces where moisture isn't the worry.
For shops and small offices, we plan the work day with you so the job fits around your business. You get the same plain answer on what comes first.
This is a heavy plastic sheet over the crawl space dirt that keeps ground moisture off your floor framing. Thicker sheet holds up better if you store things down there.
We add vapor barriers to walls, ceilings and floors that need one, on the side our climate calls for. On the wrong side, it can trap moisture inside the wall.
We seal the openings around can lights, pipes, wiring and the attic hatch before insulation goes in, so warm air stays in your rooms. It pairs well with an attic top-up.
For an older house you're fixing up, we add insulation to existing walls, attics and floors with as little tear-out as possible. Old wiring and moisture get checked first.

What insulation work looks like
Insulation questions from Sun Valley homeowners
Do I need a permit to insulate my house in Sun Valley?
It depends on the work, and in Sun Valley that's Washoe County's call. The county issues permits for anything not on its exempt list, and other than permits homeowners pull for their own work, residential permits go to a licensed contractor. We check which office covers your address and take care of the permit when your job needs one.
Does an insulation contractor need a license in Nevada?
Yes, anyone who builds or alters a building in Nevada must be licensed by the state contractors board before bidding. The exception for repairs under $1,000 in labor and materials doesn't apply to work that needs a permit. The county also requires its own business license for work in unincorporated areas like Sun Valley. We're licensed and fully insured.
How much does attic insulation cost in Sun Valley NV?
It depends on what's in your attic now, and you get a written number after I've looked. If old insulation has to come out or a lot of gaps need sealing, the job grows. Foam costs more because it seals air as it insulates, but sealing and topping up loose fill usually wins unless ducts run through the attic.
Do we have to leave the house for spray foam insulation?
Usually yes for spray foam, and we tell you ahead of time so you can plan where to stay. That's the re-entry time, the wait before the kids and pets can come back in, and it depends on the foam product. Air sealing and blown-in jobs usually let you stay home.
